Head of Development

Head of Development in Bournemouth - Our multi-award winning client is looking to recruit an exceptionally talented Head of Development to lead a team of developers within a fast moving and rapidly growing agency. Having just moved into plush new offices they can provide an exceptional and creative working environment and offer realistic career progression. The company is easily accessible by car or public transport (5 minutes walk from Bournemouth Train Station) The role involves managing a team of developers / designers across a broad range of projects. The position requires a highly experienced Developer who has worked their way up through the ranks into a lead management role; previous digital agency experience is a must. You will be responsible for improving/refining the overall team performance by introducing and overseeing effective development procedures/processes. You will be responsible for communicating with other departments and Head of Projects. There will be an expected balance of 50% management and 50% hands-on development. Programming tasks will include: working on website development including ecommerce/intranets/micro-sites/static and dynamic DB driven sites. Also HTML/CSS emailers and banners. The ideal candidate will have core skills to include Drupal, PHP, HTML, CSS, Magento and Flash, UML, OO, and design patterns etc. You will have a track record of architecting before developing, be experienced in working on small and large scale projects, be a good team player, an excellent communicator with a can-do attitude and work well under pressure – sympathetic to tight deadlines and budgets. You must also be capable/willing to mentor, train and lead projects. Due to the high number of applications we are receiving at present, we are unable to respond to every application individually.
