Deputy Manager

Deputy Manager in Bournemouth - The role of the Assistant Manager predominantly comprises hands-on support and co-ordination of support for the Support of a home. The Assistant Manager will be offering formal monthly supervision to Support Workers, and will provide ongoing support and direction as and when required as well as performing staff appraisals. You will have key a role in ensuring care plans are complete, reviewed monthly, and in the co-ordination & chairing of Care Plan reviews, offering support to key workers in this area and will also be involved in risk-taking assessments. The Assistant Manager is likely to have key worker responsibilities for one or more clients. This will involve ensuring that clients receive appropriate services and support in addition to having all their basic needs met. You will be involved in leading the team in supporting Service Users in a positive and non judgemental manner. You will be involved in the ordering and signing in of medication each month. You will co-ordinate resident’s day activities in close liaison with the Manager. You will be expected to be involved in the recruitment and selection of team members following correct recruitment procedures at all times and you will work alongside the Manager in carrying out a detailed induction package for new staff members. You will take a role alongside the Manager in organising external training and sometimes presenting internal training days. The Assistant Manager may carry out the on-call procedure for the home jointly with the Manager and on a Rota system. You may be expected to be involved in the planning of resident’s holidays and may also be expected to participate in resident holidays as appropriate.
