Supported Living Team Leader

Supported Living Team Leader in Poole - Our client is currently looking to recruit a Team Leader to lead and manage a team in providing housing related support and personal care to people who have physical and/or learning difficulties to live in their own homes and live the life they want to live. In relation to the person/people supported you will ensure the service provided fully reflects the needs and wishes of those it supports through ongoing person centres planning and Action planning; Ensure that the personal and intimate care people receive is always respectful and provided in a way that always upholds the person’s dignity; Maximise the safety of people supported, staff and the community; Ensure that the person receiving a service is assisted in maintaining their home, their tenancy and in meeting their financial responsibilities; Work closely with Benefits Agencies and other funders; Participate in providing sleep-in cover. In relation to staff you will have line management and supervisory responsibility for support staff within your team. You will develop a strong, effective and accountable team through training, team building and regular team meetings and also manage rotas, sickness, absence and annual leave. In relation to finances and administration you will ensure that accurate records are kept of the hours and type of support and personal care provided to each person; Assist the person/people you support to keep full and accurate records of all income and expenditure; Ensure people supported have maximum control over their finances; The successful candidate must have basic numeracy and literacy skills, a good understanding of person centred approaches to planning and management and a good understanding of equal rights, equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice. You must have a NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care as well as working knowledge of Minimum Standards in Domiciliary Care, Supporting People’s Quality Assessment Framework & The Reach Standards in Supported Living. You must have knowledge, understanding and experience of disability related issues, the ability to lead and manage others, good oral and written communication skills, a readiness to work un-social hours and an ability to participate in an on-call rota. A basic level of IT/ Computer literacy is essential as is the ability to listen to what people supported are communicating verbally, non-verbally, emotionally and through their actions. The hourly rate is 8.90 an hour, with an extra £1 an hour when working at weekends. You will be expected to do 2 sleep ins each week if Full Time, which is an extra £28.61 per night. Hours of work are 39 hours each week, with 31.5 on shift and 7.5 allocated for office time / admin.
