Installation Engineer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Full-time Installation Engineer to join a rapidly expanding high-tech company based in Dorchester. This exciting position requires a self-motivated individual with excellent technical skills to install, commission and train clients on complex Telecom Equipment. The majority of installations are done remotely from the UK but the right candidate must be willing to travel. The ideal candidate will be outgoing with good people skills, display an ability to be able to methodically work through technical procedures and enjoy quick-fire problem solving. Any SS7, VoIP, Linux skills would be a distinct advantage. Telecom’s experience would also be a valuable asset. Tier 1 Support Engineer / Helpdesk

Due to current growth, our client is seeking a Tier 1 Support Helpdesk / Engineer to join its team based in their Dorchester office. Duties include: Initial support level responsible for basic customer issues; Gather the customer’s information to determine the customer’s issue by analyzing the symptoms and figuring out the underlying problem. Log accurately the customer problem; Identify and log what the customer is trying to accomplish so that time is not wasted on attempting to solve a symptom instead of a problem. Sort through the possible solutions available using appropriate knowledge management tool; Employ troubleshooting methods such as verifying physical layer issues, resolving username and password problems, verification of proper hardware and software set up, and assistance with navigating around application menus; Personnel at this level have a basic-to-general understanding of the product or service and may not always have the competency required for solving complex issues; Escalation to Tier 2. The successful candidate must have the following Key Skills/Experience: Basic communication skills; Problem information gathering; Complete product knowledge at a user level; Escalation process; Customer Feedback; Following Procedure; Understanding and Addressing Key Performance Indicators. Our client is currently seeking a Junior Production Engineer to work in their production labs. The role will involve building specialist telecoms hardware equipment, testing the equipment and shipping to clients globally. Main Duties will involve: Checking Goods-In; Building company products from sub-components against specified procedures; Testing products with specialist testing equipment; Build company products from components; Boxing and shipping products to clients globally; Managing customer returns; Administration and maintenance of company's lab systems; Responsible for quality insuring all procedures and related documentation in Production is relevant and up-to-date. Essential Skills required: Experience in an IT Support / Production role a distinct advantage; Knowledge of networking components, VoIP, operating systems and basic computer hardware components; Working knowledge of Linux a definite advantage; Evidence can follow procedures used in the installation, modification maintenance and repair of IT hardware and software. Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer required to join and expand our client’s development team. Job purpose: Involvement and growing responsibility for all aspects of the lifecycle of a software project; Bug fixing; Providing Technical back up for the support team; Defining tests and new software development. The majority of software stacks are written and maintained in house however there is the need to integrate 3rd party hardware. Protocols supported are: VoIP; SIP and H.323. TDM Signalling: SS7, ISDN, R2 etc. Media Gateway control: MGCP and MEGACOL (H.248) Minimum requirements: JAVA and SQL. Desirable: Telecoms C, a good knowledge of IP/ SIP/ TCP/ UDP/ RTP/ RTCP, 2 +years programming experience.
