IT Technician, Christchurch

Our client based in Christchurch is looking for an IT Technician to support their IT Systems at their extremely busy office and warehouse environment. A multi-million pound business they despatch product to major retailers from their Distribution centre in Christchurch. This role would suit someone ambitious looking for a role they can develop. Duties: To provide technical support, troubleshoot and resolve issues; To provide a high level of internal customer service; Provide proactive software and hardware support to all staff; Become the Company Champion in all MS office applications (word, excel, PowerPoint, access, outlook, Crystal Reports and Proteus); Develop a clear understanding of all Company systems and how they integrate with each other, making recommendations for improvements wherever necessary; Manage the Server, Network, PC’s, Laptops and Telephone Systems resolving any Technical Support issues / faults; Creating and maintaining Crystals reports, scheduling and writing reports. Technical and Professional Skills: IT Equipment failure diagnostic and repair skills (Required); Networking (WAN & LAN) diagnostic and repair skills. (Required); Current IT skills (MS Windows etc…) (Required); Good fault finding skills; Communications systems (Required); Excellent customer facing skills; Able to work calmly under pressure; Able to work as a team and autonomously; Good communications (written and oral); Advanced user or Excel (Required); Knowledge of Crystal Reports (Preferred). The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure, have a willingness to learn and update skills as required, have a pleasant and helpful demeanour, have the ability to work on own initiative and have excellent prioritising and time management skills. You must also be proactive in keeping the IT Manager appraised of progress, current workload and any known issues. Working hours: Mon to Thurs 8am to 5.15pm, Fri 8am to 1pm.
